A typographic poster created during a workshop to illustrate global wealth disparities. Based on a randomly drawn quote: "The top 10% of the richest people accumulate more than 80% of global wealth, leaving 90% of the population to share the remaining 17%."
This poster was one of my first attempts at using typography to communicate meaningful social messages. The workshop required us to select a quote at random and transform it into a visual piece that effectively conveys its message.
The poster combines bold typographic hierarchy with a minimalist color palette to emphasize the stark contrast in wealth distribution. By carefully structuring the text and spacing, the visual rhythm guides the viewer’s eye and reinforces the shocking statistics of the quote.
The final poster communicates the message clearly and provocatively, serving as an effective educational and visual tool. This project was a valuable exercise in translating data and statistics into a compelling visual narrative.
